Today more and more people want to be involved in decisions that affect their quality of life.  They want to be informed.

This means effective communication is simply one more service Lane County government must provide.  A vital part of communicating to the public is issuing news releases to the media.

Besides preparing news releases, the county’s public information officer works with media to get the word out about county programs and services.  Some information given to media - such as news advisories, tip sheets, photo opportunities, etc. - won't appear on this website because of formatting complexities and time constraints.  All our news releases will be posted to the Web at the same time they go to news media.
