Finance Operations is responsible for establishing and maintaining uniform, efficient, and effective accounting systems to control and report the receipt and disbursement of County funds and taxing districts funds. The program manages Lane County's central payroll, payables, and cash management operations and is responsiblefor receiving and recording all County expenditures and revenue obligations and other authorized payments on a timely basis in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices.
Fiscal Year 2004-05 Objectives
• Reevaluate and reengineer centralized purchasing, stores, surplus disposal and warehousing functions.
• Implement a Procurement Card Program at Lane County.
• Review and update investment policies and reactivate the Investment Advisory Group.
• Develop and implement County debt policies, including development of a debt affordability report.
• Begin implementation of document imaging/control for accounts payable and other finance/HR functions.
• Assist in the development and implementation of a countywide electronic time-entry system.
