WHO MAY APPLY FOR AN ABSENTEE BALLOT?
Any registered voter who will be temporarily out of the county, state, or country may apply for an absentee ballot. Ballots are not forwardable by law.
If out of county or out of state, complete the following absentee application (not military or out-of-country) , indicating the length of time you will be gone:
Lane County military voters and their dependents stationed at a military location outside Lane County, APO/FPO address, or those Lane County residents living temporarily overseas must complete a Federal Absentee Ballot Request - Federal Post Card Application (FPCA), indicating the length of time you will be gone in section 6 of the form. Providing a direct mailing address on a federal card will flag the elections office that your ballot qualifies to be mailed 45 days prior to an election. Upon a voter's return to Lane County, the voter needs to complete a regular Oregon Voter Registration card to update their information.

WHEN CAN I APPLY FOR AN ABSENTEE BALLOT?
You may apply for an absentee ballot at any time. If you apply for an absentee ballot by mail, be sure to allow enough time for the ballot to be delivered to you, voted and returned to Lane County Elections by Election Day.
I WILL BE OUT OF TOWN WHEN BALLOTS ARE MAILED. HOW DO I GET A BALLOT?
You may request an absentee ballot from your county elections office either in person, by mail, or by fax.
You must include:
Your voted ballot must be received by Lane County Elections or a designated drop site by 8:00 pm on election day. Postmarks will not be considered.
The last day to mail ballots is the 5th day before the election.
