2011 Seasonal Flu Shots

The CDC recommends that everyone over six months of age receive influenza vaccination this year.

This year's seasonal flu vaccine contains the same three antigens as the 2010 vaccine.

All healthcare workers are advised to be vaccinated as well as household contacts and out-of-home caregivers of children from birth to up to 5 years of age.

High risk groups for complications from seasonal flu include anyone over the age of 50, especially those with health problems; residents of long-term care facilities; any person with certain chronic medical conditions; pregnant women; and babies & young children.

Parents of young children are encouraged to have them vaccinated at their medical provider's office or by appointment at Lane County Public Health.

LCPH services are available regardless of age, race, color, sex, religion, national origin, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, and marital status.  LCPH facilities are wheelchair accessible. LCPH materials are available upon request in alternative formats such as: large print, Braille and other languages.
