Recent News

• Lane County Community & Economic Development, in coordination with Travel Lane County, held a Kick-Off Meeting to provide information and solicit participation on the newly developed McKenzie River Tourism Committee (MRTC).  The Committee will be instrumental in initiating recommendations from the McKenzie River Visitor Readiness Report.  The Committee's Implementation Action Plan will Positioning & Branding, Attractions and Experiences Marketing and Visitor Services along the McKenzie River.  For more information contact Sarah Mizejewski at sarah.mizejewski@co.lane.or.us

• Energy Efficiency & Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) - This grant allocation will provide Lane County help with the implementation of a cost-effective renewable energy installation or efficiency project to reduce the County's carbon footprint 20% by June 30, 2012.  The timetable for the activity is to start a project early 2010 with completion by the end of 2010.

• Lane County has applied, on behalf of Row River Valley, and received $1 million dollars for the water treatment system.  The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) will pay for much needed repairs, construction and reconstruction of the water treatment plant.

• The Lane County Administration Department, Community & Economic Development Program is seeking respondents interested in applying for up to $150,000 in funding to deliver the economic development services of job creation or workforce training.  More information below - 10/11 Requests for proposals.
